An upcoming radical overhaul is due for the next season of FX’s anthology series, the American Horror Story. According to Screen Rant, John Landgraf, Network CEO of FX, has stated that although is he unaware of the precise details, the premise for the fifth season will alter to aid in making the show better. He also said that he is enthusiastic about the versatility of American Horror Story’s anthropology setting in that it permits the show to take in a fresh tone, setting, and role of characters with each individual installment. The upcoming fifth season of the show is entitled, “Hotel.”

“I know what [the premise for season five] is, but I can’t [say]. I have to let [series boss] Ryan [Murphy] do his thing on that. But it’s very different,” said Landgraf during a press tour.

Landgraf also added, “One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast… I think there’s going to be an unusually large reinvention in between book four and book five relative to, say, between book three and four.”

One of the major changes that the show will have to undergo is that its former lead star, Jessica Lange will no longer be a part of the upcoming installment. Jessica Lange has expressed her enjoyment on being part of the show and her gratefulness in the opportunity to be casted with four diverse characters in the show.

Another segment of this radical overhaul the show is to go through is the list of strong group of actors created by the show’s producers casted to play the lead roles in the horror anthology series. Wes Bentley who has made appearances before as a recurring character, Edward Mordrake in the previous season has been made into a series regular to aid anchor the show.  Along with Wes Bentley are fellow returness, Chloe Sevigny and Matt Bomer. Both of them had already guest starred in the show’s previous seasons.

Chloe Sevigny last made her appearance in show in its second season entitled “Asylum” wherein she was casted the role of an inmate named Shelley. The producers of show did not provide information as to what her role this upcoming season would be about. It was only stated that she would be a series regular.

Matt Bomer, after being a guest star in American Horror Story’s previous season, will have a lead role in the upcoming installment. He will be starring beside a series newcomer, Lady Gaga. Matt Bomer has not disclosed information about his character, on whether it has a relationship with Lady Gaga’s character. This will be Matt Bomer’s major TV role since his six season starring on White Collar.

The production of the next installment of the show is expected to start this Spring. American Horror Story: Hotel will then debut on FX Network sometime in October later this year.

Fans are definitely looking forward to all these changes to come in the fifth season of American Horror Story.
