Fox’s breakout 2013 supernatural show “Sleepy Hollow” was back at Comic-Con with stars Tom Mison who plays Ichabod Crane and Nicole Beharie who is Abbie Mills.
Even with all the excitement and new found celebrities, they’d both managed to sneak down to the floor. Tom in particular found something impressive. “I went down to the floor and I saw a man dressed a Han Solo encased in carbonite. He’d made a full cardboard thing…that was my favorite.”
Both stars were obviously dodging questions about how or if Mison would escape from his coffin cliffhanger at the end of Season One when Beharie called him out for some sassy hand gestures.
Tom bewailed, “Damn it’s immortalized.”
Season two has more of the same stunts for Mison swinging swords and other fight scenes but Beharie talked about getting some interesting stunt work. “I have some diving. Some water work…some deep sea work.”
“Sleepy Hollow” returns to Fox on September 22. The theme of season 2 is kind of a tease. The writers kicked off the panel by promising us that the theme of Season 2 is all about redemption, family, and hope within the context of war.
The Sleepy Hollow writers talked about how, while making the first season, they made sure to keep themselves updated on the audience’s response to each episode. As a whole, they found that what fans always seemed to love most was when their expectations were subverted so they could be truly surprised.
Abbie and Ichabod have some patching up to do.
Despite their strong connection, Ichabod knowingly betrayed Abbie when he drew the map. This broken trust is something they’re going to have to work through.
The New Sheriff in Town
An instant obstacle for Abbie and Ichabod, the new sheriff has a quiet strength to her (as well as a history with Abbie’s mother.) With her in charge, it’s going to be a little tougher for Abbie and Ichabod to pull off their pranks.
Katrina and Headless’ relationship gets weirder
Who would expect a love triangle between 2 man whoa re centuries old, and one of them “Headless”. Katrina is the only one who can see Headless as her fiancé, Abraham, their relationship does have a Beauty and the Beast undertone to it. Headless loves Katrina, Katia insisted… he just has a funny way of showing it. She said she hopes we won’t hate her next season.
Katia said that one of the things she’s most looking forward to next season is the exploration of Ichabod and Katrina’s relationship. They do love each other deeply, and she hopes that viewers will finally get to see why.
The audience’s clinging attachment to Ichabbie
Katrina doesn’t want to gap anything interesting that might come out of Ichabod and Abbie tandem, she thought that is definitely interesting.
The writers insisted that Ichabod and Abbie’s relationship was never initially imagined as what fans have catapulted it into. “I’m not trying to be romantic,” Tom Mison insisted with a smirk.
