The making of Season 4 of American Horror Story is currently in progress. American Horror Story: Freak Show is being filmed in New Orleans, but is set in Jupiter, Florida.
Ryan Murphy co-creator of the show posted a photo from the Freak Show’s first day of filming.
“Dot and Bette’s first day,” Murphy teased the show’s fans with the subtitle of the black and white photo. To those who are foreign with “Dot and Bette,” they are conjoined twins who are set in one body to be played by actress Sarah Paulson. Sarah Paulson made an announcement regarding her character casting in her social media last June posting: “So excited to be playing Bette AND Dot this season. Two heads are better than one! #AHSFREAKSHOW.”
The photo that Ryan Murphy shared online does not show the faces of the character of Sarah Paulson. However, it does show where they are located, which is a hospital room. The said conjoined twins have short brown hair. They are sitting down on a bed with their backs facing the camera while they look out the window. The theory that they are in a hospital room comes from their attire. They are wearing, as it appears to be, a hospital gown with a tie-back.
“American Horror Story: Freak Show” will be set in Jupiter, Florida, and will return to the small screen on FX this October 2014. Just like American Horror Story: Asylum back in the second season, American Horror Story: Freak Show will be a stage piece with the main focus being in the 1950s.
AHS star Jessica Lange will be quitting her witch powers from “Coven” to play a German ex-pat who is overseeing one of the last freak shows in the United States. Jessica Lange will battle it out with Denis O’Hare. She has worked previously with Denis O’Hare back in the first season of American Horror Story. In this season, Denis O’Hare has been casted with the character who is a “collector of freaks” and will be at “cross-purposes” with Jessica Lange’s character.

Michael Chiklis – A “strong man” in the freak show, Chiklis is the ex-husband of Bates’ character and the current husband of Angela Bassett’s character.
Evan Peters – A performer in the freak show and the son of Kathy Bates’ character.
Sarah Paulson – Conjoined twins Bette and Dot, who are part of Lange’s freak show.
Angela Bassett – The current wife of Michael Chiklis’ character and potential freak show performer.
Wes Bently – A “dark tormentor” from Kathy Bates character’s past who is “hell-bent on revenge.”
