Sleepy Hollow Adds A New Member To The Cast
The news about Sleepy Hollow has been dropping on us from everywhere and all at once. We have already been brought to speed on some of the latest greatest additions on Sleepy Hollow. Like the inclusion of Timothy Busfield as none other than Ben Franklin, Heather Lind as The Weeping Lady, Matt Barr as Nick Hawley, the bounty hunter and Sakina Jaffrey as the town’s new sheriff. Just as getting used to the idea of all these influential characters getting added to the show, there has been another update to this list and this one is an even bigger deal. About the new characters in Sleepy Hollow, Mark Goffman said, “We actually do plan to introduce some new characters. One of the big goals, which goes along with the idea of war in Sleepy Hollow, is that we need to populate the town more. So we expect to build out and get to know more of the town of Sleepy Hollow and that will definitely mean bringing in some more characters. And some of them, I think, will be supernatural.”
The newbie cast member to join us on Sleepy Hollow is Aunjanue Ellis as Abbie and Jenny’s mother. We have already heard of her on the show and the news of Abbie’s mother to reveal herself this season is not a new one. But now, the character finally has a face and we would like to thank Entertainment Weekly for shedding light on the fact.
The show itself is filled with flashbacks and dream sequences, one of the perks of ding a period piece, and now with another character that does not belong to the living world, there is bound to be more of the back stories. We did learn a lot about Ichabod’s origin in the last season and now it is time to dig some dirt up form Abbie’s life. When the girls were young their mother had committed suicide in a mental institution, Abbie and Jenny then had to live their lives travelling from one foster home to another. It seems very much like the mother had a lot of similarities with daughter, Jenny. We already know that both of them had tings that sounded crazy enough which made them be misunderstood by people and eventually made them end up in mental institutions.
Apart from that, we have already seen the many ways in which Ichabod is related to the devils; however, we cannot say the same for Abbie. The Horseman of Death was once Crane’s dear friend who turned into foe for losing his love, Katrina to the charming and good-souled Ichabod. At the same time, the Horseman of War is not only related, but bonded by blood with Ichabod, as eh is none other than Jeremy Crane, Ichabod’s son. The ties of Ichabod can be called more than strong enough to bear witness to the Apocalypse. While, in case of Abbie, we only know that she had encountered Moloch in the woods when she was just a child, but so did Jenny. Abbie’s cause for being a witness is yet to be revealed by the show’s creators. The relationship dynamics of the Mills is focused more largely this time and about the sisters, Mark Goffman says, “I’ve loved the relationship that she and Abbie have developed over the season, and I think they still have some reconciliation. She’s also a critical part of the show. I’m curious to find out what happens with her as well.”
