Freddie Highmore And Kerry Ehrin Are Cooking Up Romantic Comedy

Potential Romantic Comedy On NBC

Bates Motel Show runners, Kerry Ehrin and Freddie Highmore have jointly taken up a new challenge. They have teamed up to come up with a romantic comedy script and will be set up at NBC, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.

kbc (1)So far we have come to know that it will be a rom-com series containing thirty minutes long episodes and si set in the world of venture capitalism. The show has been officially described as “the intimate relationship between an overly emotional but talented female executive and her ambitious and eccentric young British assistant.” NBC has shown a green light by providing a script commitment to the venture. Freddie Highmore is likely to be producing and has co-written the pilot episode of the, still unnamed, project. Whether Highmore will be starring in the series or not, remains to be disclosed. The idea of the show, apparently, dropped on the duo at the Critics’ Choice Awards 2014. This will be Highmore’s first time at writing a pilot script.

Currently Freddie Highmore is starring in Bates Motel, which also casts Vera Farmiga, Olivia Cooke, Nestor Carbonell, Max Thieriot and other great actors. Bates Motel is the prequel of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psych, and is produced by Universal Television for A&E Network with executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin.

mnvjncFreddie Highmore is an English born actor who is known for with work in Finding Neverland (2004), Five Children and It (2004), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Arthur and the Invisibles (2006), August Rush (2007), The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), and The Art of Getting By (2011) and now Bates Motel. Highmore is currently learning Spanish and Arabic at the University of Cambridge.

Kerry Ehrin has previously written for NBC drama series Friday Night Lights. She ahs received several nominations like, the nomination for Writers Guild of America Award for Best New Series at the February 2007, for the WGA Award for Best Dramatic Series at the February 2008 ceremony, for Best Dramatic Series a second time at the February 2009 ceremony and for the WGA Award for Best Drama Series for the third consecutive year hmvat the February 2010 ceremony.

Bates Motel is set to return on March, 2015 with its all new third season. Network executive VP and general manager, David McKillop, talked up Bates Motel, by stating, “The incredible writing team and talented Bates Motel cast has made this series one of the most compelling original dramas on television. The brilliant twists and turns of the past two seasons keep its loyal fan base coming back for more. We are so proud of the show.” The show is quite popular, with 4.6 million viewers of whom, 2.6 million are adults (18-49).
