Several rumoured plots as to where Creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck will take the course of the American Horror Story: Hotel had been posted. This includes the possible participation of modern day witches, the repurposed asylum, a haunted hotel filled with ghosts, or a place of lodging for the twisted characters in Hollywood.

It has been recently confirmed too that Kathy Bates will be returning to the set of American Horror Story: Hotel. This news was announced by the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy through his Twitter account, posting: “Kathy Bates is running the Hotel. ‪#AHSSeason5.”

The actress first played the role in the first season of the anthology series as Marie Delphine LaLaurie, the real-life murderous socialite from New Orleans for the “American Horror Story: Coven.” This particular role made her earn her first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstand Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie and the Dorian Award for Best TV Performance of the Year – Actress during that time.

She later on was casted as the bearded lady who was called Ethel Darling in the “American Horror Story: Freak Show” last season.

Details as to what her role will be in the coming season of the highly anticipated show however have not yet been disclosed at this time.

The actress will be joining the cast members which includes other returnees of American Horror Story actors like Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, and Matt Bomer in the new season of FX’s hit horror thriller. The show will also showcase fresh faces like Broadway and TV actor Cheyenne Jackson and pop superstar Lady Gaga who will embody undisclosed roles for the series.

Jessica Lange, who has been a fan favorite of the show, will no longer take part in the next installment of American Horror Story: Hotel. She had recently announced that Freak Show was her last participation in the show.

FX has announced the order for the series’ season five last October 2014, and the show is scheduled to premiere in October this year.

More casting news are anticipated to be announced before the series commences filming in the coming months.

An upcoming radical overhaul is due for the next season of FX’s anthology series, the American Horror Story. According to Screen Rant, John Landgraf, Network CEO of FX, has stated that although is he unaware of the precise details, the premise for the fifth season will alter to aid in making the show better.”

“I know what [the premise for season five] is, but I can’t [say]. I have to let [series boss] Ryan [Murphy] do his thing on that. But it’s very different,” said Landgraf during a press tour.

Landgraf also added, “One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast… I think there’s going to be an unusually large reinvention in between book four and book five relative to, say, between book three and four.”

Fans are definitely looking forward to all these changes and surprises to come in the fifth season of American Horror Story.
