After the explosive finale of Sleepy Hollow, the wait will now begin until we see new episodes of our beloved show. Don’t worry though, I’m here to give you some information on what to expect on season 2.
For now, let’s talk about what we already know. John Noble has been upgraded to a series regular so expect to see more of him next season. The last time we saw him was when it was revealed that he was Jeremy, Ichabod and Katrina’s son. He also goes by the name of Henry Parish and is totally loyal to Moloch. This will be good for the show because they’ll have a proper human villain that has strong ties with the lead characters. FYI, the crew of Sleepy Hollow was worried that the audience might realize that Henry was actually Jeremy before the big reveal. Co-creator and executive producer Len Wiseman says:
“We were looking at the final cut and there was one shot, a look of suspicion on Katrina once she comes out of Purgatory and is introduced to Henry. She says, “Oh yes, you’re the Sin Eater.” And she has a look on her face when seeing him that something’s not quite right. I was worried about that one.”
Lyndie Greenwood aka Abbie’s sister Jenny has also been promoted as a series regular and naturally, we’ll see more of her. This is good news because it’s a possibility that we can see her become part of Ichabod and Abbie’s “Scooby Doo” gang.
Katrina will also have a lot more screen time on season 2. What we can say for now is she’s definitely out of purgatory thanks to Abbie’s sacrifice.
Speaking of Abbie, the opening will definitely focus on how the lead characters will get out of their dire predicaments. Ichabod might be the first one to get out because there is just a small time frame before he runs out of air in his coffin. Abbie might have a harder time escaping from the doll house but she’s a very resilient and impatient woman so she’ll have a hard time waiting for Ichabod to come and save her. Alex Kurtzman, Co-creator and executive producer of Sleepy Hollow had this to say about the whole Abbie situation:
“She’s definitely stuck there. The question is, is she going to find her way out herself, or is somebody going to help her out? Abbie’s a pretty self-reliant person. I think she would have a very difficult time sitting in there reading the newspaper while she was waiting for someone to rescue her. Since there’s obviously no cell reception in hell, she’d have to read the newspaper. [Laughs]”
We also know that there will be another character that might actually be helpful to Ichabod and Abbie’s cause. When asked about the new addition Wiseman said:
“I don’t want to give away too much. But there will ll be another important character coming in the second season.”
So there you have it guys, I hope the new info that I shared might ease the pain of waiting. For now, let the speculating begin.
