American Horror Story Golden Globe Nominations

The Golden Globes will be televised on Sunday, January 12, 8pm EST/5pm PST. I am happy to report that American Horror Story: Coven is nominated for Best Mini Series or Motion Picture for Television and Jessica Lange is nominated for Best Actress in a Mini Series and. This is a very big deal for Ms. Lange as she has been nominated for best actress instead of best supporting actress (which, by the way, she won last year.)

Ms. Lange’s competition is as follows:

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION Helena Bonham Carter, Burton & Taylor

Rebecca Ferguson, The White Queen

Helen Mirren, Phil Spector

Elisabeth Moss, Top of the Lake

Although I’m crazy about American Horror Story and Ms. Lange, I have to say that the roster for the best actress award is tough.

American Horror Story: Coven is competing with the following shows:

BEST MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN (FX Networks)
BEHIND THE CANDELABRA (HBO)
DANCING ON THE EDGE (Starz)
TOP OF THE LAKE (Sundance Channel)
WHITE QUEEN (Starz)

American Horror Story is in its 3rd season with Coven, a horrifying and unique interpretation of modern day witches. The show has been very successful in scaring audiences since its first season and has redefined horror in television programming.

You can watch American Horror Story: Coven on January 15, Wednesday, on FX 10pm EST.
